That's Not Funny / Recently DeadWednesday, September 29, 2010 04:50 PM
Comedian Greg Giraldo, who only recently was one of the three judges on the reality show Last Comic Standing, was found unresponsive during a party on Saturday in his room at a hotel in East Brunswick, New Jersey. He had overdosed on prescription pills. Paramedics tried to revive him at the scene, then transported him to the hospital, where he was listed in serious condition. The 44-year-old Giraldo, who's open about his past addictions, was staying at the hotel while performing a four-night gig at the Stress Factory comedy club. Ironically, he was also scheduled to perform at a rally for Drug Addiction Recovery Month. "It was like a zoo here," a party-goer said of Giraldo's hotel room. (via PopEater) UPDATE: So very sad to report that Greg Giraldo has died in an East Brunswick hospital, five days after overdosing on pills at a party in his hotel room, reported above. He was 44. The overdose was not a suicide attempt.
