The magnificent Iris Apfel

The 88-year-old textile mogul and fashion doyenne Iris Apfel, whose audacious use of accessories and outrageous knack for mixing styles, colors, textures and patterns have made her a legend among fashionistas for half a century, was out and about in NYC this week. She's photographed with designer Cynthia Rowley in the first pic, and designer Catherine Malandrino in the second. And if you've never heard of her, you really OUGHT to acquaint yourself now. A coffee table book documenting her one-woman Metropolitan Museum Costume Exhibit show, Rare Bird of Fashion: The Irreverant Iris Apfel, can be purchased here. (I refer to it DAILY.)
