hollywood nightclub

OK, so the Hollywood sign hotel is old news, but what about the nightclub? I love Hugh Hefner and I love Hollywood heritage,  BUT I can't help feeling that this hotel/nightclub idea is a missed opportunity. If the Hollywood sign isn't a sign of the times (ie, Facebook, Grinder, boutique hotels, etc), what is it other than just another old falling-down sign? (via Curbed LA; t/y Thairin)
