Ho' Made Recipes from The Dirty ChefThursday, April 29, 2010 11:30 AM
I had a daydream about a new Hollywood fad diet. Everything you eat has to have something green on it, tossed with it , wrapped in it, stuck to it, or buried in it. If there is no green on it then you can't put it in your mouth. Farmers markets are my church, so this spring and summer I am going to perfect recipes that are married to green. I am not a huge fan of following recipes so I will not post recipes, but I will post a picture or pictures with the main ingredients. I usually don't eat pasta but now I can with this ho' made "Green Garbage Pasta" recipe. Here are two versions I ho' made this past week, "Green Garbage Pasta" without and with mushrooms. I keep it real simple. What I did was boil-bath the peas, broccoli, and asparagus with the pasta, strain all together, and toss it with huge handfuls of chopped spinach, basil, arugula, and parsley. I splash it with olive oil to keep it wet, and sprinkle it with pink salt and cracked pepper for kicks. The kitchen is a dirty mess afterwards but I love doing it. Enjoy!
