Chloe's khaki cape

Last week we saw Carine Roitfeld, the world's most fabulous fashion editor (sorry, Anna) in black tights and cape. Today we have Chloë Sevigny in the "Casual Friday" version. She wore it to the Brooklyn Museum Gala for the exhibition "American High Style: Fashioning A National Collection" on Thursday night. The thing I like about capes is that they make go "RAR!" and strike absurdly heroic poses that you normally would not do. The hand on the hip is ABSOLUTELY mandatory. It gives it a slight billowing effect, even indoors. As you can imagine: I'm all for wearing capes this season. In fact, I ALMOST bought a $4,000 Comme des Garcons Dark Shadows cape last winter, then I realized I didn't have $4,000, and quickly crashed back to earth. And that old purple velvet cape from my brief "raver goth magician" period in the early '90s just won't cut it this season. So what to do? (via HuffPo)
