Gossip Girl Report 3.18: The End of Blair and ChuckTuesday, April 13, 2010 03:28 PM
Manhattan resident and Gossip Girl's biggest fan, Lydia Rendon, is a sad girl today. "It's with a broken heart," she says, "that I turn in my recap of last night's episode. My favorite couple is now no more *tear*" That's right, it was a sad night for Blair and Chuck fans. After last week when Chuck traded Blair to get his hotel back, B has been giving him the cold shoulder. Not knowing what's going on, Serena once again decides to be the GG relationship guru. She drags Nate along with her when she confronts Chuck who refuses to give them any info on why Blair is not speaking with him. Not surprising, considering the entire thing is his fault. Later, Nate, who was abandoned by Serena for the lure of Humphrey waffles (or so she says), goes to talk with Blair. She reveals to him the deal Chuck made with Jack in order to get the hotel back and how he played on her emotions to make sure the plan went through. As Nate and Blair come downstairs, they see Chuck and find out he has offered to throw Dorota and Vanya their wedding. To make matters worse, Dorota asks Blair and Chuck to be in the wedding to bring good luck to her marriage. You would think at this point Dorota would know nothing good ever comes from letting these people plan events and that definitely using them as good luck is a bad idea, but the wedding must go on! Planning the wedding soon takes over, bringing everyone together. Chuck and Blair put on a happy front, Nate roams around sending Chuck dirty looks, and Jenny shows up with Eric to help make Dorota's dress. Luckily for Little J, Serena's absence creates a prefect opportunity for her to help speed along the upcoming Serena and Nate break up. As mentioned earlier, when S told Nate she was going to have breakfast with the Humphreys, she was actually secretly meeting with Carter who is now back in town. Once Jenny and Eric arrived at the Waldorfs, Nate asked where Serena was and – presto – Jenny seized her moment. When S finally does show up, she explains the situation to Nate but the evil seeds of doubt Jenny planted in him take over. He tells Serena not to see Carter again, but since he is once again helping S with her lost-daddy issues, she refuses and jumps on a plane to South Beach. Nate ends up spending the night with Jenny (no not that way... yet), and never gets the message from S that she left, which BTW Serena told Jenny to tell Nate. Stupid move, S. However, Serena gets a surprise of her own when she shows up at Daddy Van Der Woodsen's door step: Lily. Yup, turns out Lily hasn't been away taking care of CeCe, after all. Instead, she's been holed up in a hotel for weeks with Serena's dad. Hmm, details to come. Back at the wedding, after hearing Vanya's speech on how much he loves Dorota, B has a breakdown and lets everyone know she and Chuck are over. Chuck tries to persuade her that they can get through this, that this is who they are. But Blair tells him it's not who she wants to be. She even says it's because she loves Chuck too much, the fact that she would do anything for him and yet he would still use her. If this wasn't sad enough, Chuck still doesn't see that what he did was his fault or wrong. After everything, Chuck tries to spin that no one forced Blair to sleep with Jack. B explains she didn't, and Chuck takes it a step further to say that therefore there's no problem. This is the last straw for Blair; she cries and says goodbye to Chuck. What does C do? Starts drinking and ends up leaving with some Russian skank in front of B. Oh Chuck, you're killing me! Now if the split of B & C isn't enough to make me want to stop watching, the one person who comes to B's side to comfort her is Dan. WTF, Dan?! Dan who is dating the Dreadlock Queen. Dan who is still considered the help by Eleanor even when he tells her he's not working the wedding. I never thought I would say this, but Vanessa need to come back so she can distract Dan and he can stay far, far away from Blair.
