Mo' Mozah, pleaseThursday, April 08, 2010 05:03 PM tags: Absolutely Fabulous, diva, Fashion, Fashion Forward, fashion icon, Royalty, Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser Al Missned
Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser Al Missned of Quatar is my new favorite fashion icon. The always-covered, always-monochromatic Muslim goddess is the second of the Emir of Quatar's three wives. According to Wiki: "Unlike many other monarchical wives in the Middle East, Sheikha Mozah has been a high-profile figure in her nation's politics and society, actively involved in Qatar's government. Additionally, she has been named as one of Forbes' 100 Most Powerful Women at #79." Which is all well and good but it's really ALL ABOUT her strikingly dramatic looks. You know I'm mad for a woman in a turban, of course. And as I get older (see earlier post) and heavier (see any recent picture) I feel it's more becoming to cover myself with large swaths of fabric. I feel I could learn a thing or two from this chick. I'm particularly fascinated by the red ensemble, how the lapels sort of disappear into her bosom. FABULOUS! And the lichen-colored, lichen-covered dress to the right with the bowed belt is simply TOO DELICIOUS! Straight out of Old Hollywood! It totally could have been designed by Adrian for Joan Crawford or Loretta Young. Anyway. More Mozah pictures, please, foreign press! We need an anti-Gaga to counter-balance the fashion universe!
