Pete Doherty's Heart-Stopping ExperienceWednesday, November 25, 2009 03:09 PM
It's been quite a while since we've had a WOW Report post on Pete Doherty, once a semiregular here with his love dramas, drug troubles, court appearances, rehab stays, and blood paintings. Last we heard he'd had a device implanted somewhere that discourages the use of heroin and cocaine; not long after, he canceled a slew of gigs, with a spokesman explaining that the Libertines frontman was suffering from exhaustion. Now the 30-year-old Doherty says the truth is that he was hospitalized in October when his heart stopped. Say what now? "Well, I don’t know," he tells the Daily Mail. "I don’t remember. I thought I was a taxi driver offering to take everyone to Elephant and Castle. I was running into the walls, making steering wheel signs with my hands. And then I just stopped. My body just stopped." Doherty swears it was "somekind of poisoning" that had nothing to do with drugs, and wasn't caused by the implant. He was released from the hospital, but medics are still concerned about his heart. Developing. (Splash photo)
