Britney in a Synch HoleMonday, November 09, 2009 07:51 AM
At least 100 disgruntled Britney Spears fans in Perth, Australia, stormed out of her "Circus" concert Friday night, disappointed with her lip-synching and her seemingly by-the-numbers performance in general. There were no large video screens and Spears never mentioned Perth by name, merely shouting a generic, "What's up, Australia!" The controversy over lip-synching Down Under has caused politicians in three Australian states to insist concert promoters disclose in advance whether their performers will be singing live or over pre-recorded vocal tracks. Singer John Mayer, who was in Oz promoting his album, tweeted his two cents on the topic: "If you're shocked that Britney was lip-syncing at her concert and want your money back, life may continue to be hard for you."
