One Life To Live's gay wedding debacleTuesday, November 03, 2009 10:45 AM
I've kept quiet for the last couple of months on the horror that is One Life to Live's gay wedding plotline. Mostly because I hatehatehate Officer Fish and his whiny, pre-Stonewall era brand of self-loathing. I feel like the story is being written by an 80-year-old closet closet case. Kyle needs to stick with Nick. Nick is hot. Nick doesn't have issues. Nick looks great in a towel. And I'm not even going to mention how insulting and implausible Dorian's lesbian marriage TO GAIN VOTES in rural Pennsylvania is. RURAL PENNSYLVANIA, PEOPLE! And isn't she making a mockery of the struggle that real gay people are facing? Also: Everybody needs to remember THERE IS NO GAY MARRIAGE IN PENNSYLVANIA, so this is technically not even a mass gay wedding at all. Yes, I acknowledge that having a man leaving a man at the alter for another man is a first for daytime television, but I find almost everybody involved in this story to be repulsive and insulting.
