Star SitingFriday, October 30, 2009 01:16 PM
There was a fairly meager turnout when actor Peter Graves got his star unveiled on the Hollywood Walk of Fame late this morning. Which is sad because the brother of Gunsmoke star James Arness was once a huge presence on TV in the late '60s, starring as Jim Phelps on Mission: Impossible. Not to mention his roles in the movies Stalag 17, Night of the Hunter, and both Airplane!s. Still, it was not easy finding someone here at WOW who'd heard of him and was interested enough to cross Hollywood Boulevard to take his picture outside Musso & Frank. And it seemed to us that the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce waited until the last weekday before Halloween to unveil his star so as to take advantage of his ghoulish surname. And we're thinking the members probably kept their fingers crossed that the 83-year-old wouldn't die before then because, ironically, posthumous unveilings draw so few people. (Photo: Steve Sims)
