Pulp Fiction Co-scripter Sent to SlammerWednesday, September 30, 2009 12:18 PM
Roger Avary, who won an Oscar for co-writing Pulp Fiction with Quentin Tarantino and directed the stellar film adaptation of Bret Ellis' Rules of Attraction (a personal fave), was sentenced yesterday to 12 months in prison for vehicular manslaughter and DUI. Last year, you'll remember, a drunk Avary was driving his Mercedes over 100 MPH in Ventura County, California, when he crashed into a telephone pole, killing his passenger. You think a year behind bars is too short a spell for the crime? It seems to us that living with the knowledge you killed your friend is a far worse punishment than even a 20-year stretch. Just saying. (TMZ)
