This fabulous deep-sea diving suit from the 1880s by Alphonse and Théodore Carmagnolle is on display at the National Marine Museum in Paris. Damn! Had I known about it, I totally would have rocked it at Mr Black LA last night! That's a seriously hot clubkid look! Very Leigh Bowery! Although for underwater use? Not so much. I cannot imagine being trapped on the ocean floor wearing it. Freaky 19th-century explorers! What were they thinking? (via Dinosaurs and Robots)
