Gossip Girl Report 3.2Tuesday, September 22, 2009 03:46 PM
From Manhattan, the land of Blair Waldorf and Serena van der Woodsen, Lydia Rendon reports on last night's Gossip Girl. Seemed to be set-up-the-plot week at Gossip Girl. Nothing really great happened, but we can see where the characters are going. Oh, how convenient it is that all the GG kids go to NYU, even home-schooled Vanessa. And what kind of show would we have if Serena had actually left the city and gone to Brown? A better one perhaps, but then who would be the train wreck of the show? (This was the best line of the show, btw, especially coming from Chuck.) And who better to bring on to help her on her way than Mr Train Wreck, Carter Baizen. These two should be fun to watch. Kudos to S however for having one of the best outfits of the night: blue dress while with Carter at the bar. Chuck and his obsession with speakeasies. Very season one, but how can anyone say no to him in his purple suit and suspenders. By far the best male outfit of the night. Again, calling Serena a train wreck is now going down as one of the best Chuck Bass moments. On to Blair, whose oh-so-devilish ways show just how good she is at revenge. Inviting Georgina's Jesus Camp members to the rooftop party was classic Blair and extremely hilarious. Here's hoping she moves on from trying to "Queen B" herself to the NYU freshmen class and maybe instead start up some drama with Serena who, let's face it, will now have a lot of time on her hands. Best line: "Dan's a writer?" Best outfit: Hot pink shoes. Dan and Georgina. One more time now, Dan and Georgina! Hot!!! Even though I'm not the biggest fan of Michelle Trachtenberg, her Georgina Sparks character is by the far one of the best on the show. I only hope she can do one thing before her guest spot is over, which is to fix Dan's hair. It's starting to resemble the tragic mess of Vanessa's. It's like a weird greasy-matted comb over. It must be from all that time he spends making waffles. Seriously, what's up with the Humphreys and waffles? We can only hope that Jenny's absence in this episode has something to do with a tragic waffle- maker accident forcing her to be off the show until the writers come up with some sort of storyline for her or she gets better hair. Nate. More family drama. Boring, boring.
