Fuschia florals in fall? The world has gone to hellThursday, September 17, 2009 01:12 PM
Oh, capricious Fashion! I will never understand you! A quick Google search assures me that, yes, bright floral prints are all the rage for fall 2009. That doesn't mean I'm on board. In fact, I will rail against such nonsense until my dying breath. I suppose if you are as lovely as Natalie Portman, you can get away with it. But if I were to wear that dress, with, say, a flower pot of chrysanthemums on my head and a sunflower corsage on my wrist, people would look at me like I was a loon. In my day, we got excited about plaids and tweeds and herringbones and houndstooths for autumn. This just feels too perky, too peppy. Curse you, Anna Wintour! You and your damn color obsession are going to be the ruin of us all! And what's next? Furs for summer? I shudder at the slippery slope Natalie is leading us down. (via Splash)
