The 'Kate Gosselin' belongs to history now

Twenty years from now, when they are making a movie with a flashback scene to the late '00s, every single actress and every single extra will sport "the Kate Gosselin." It will be the hairdo of the period with instant recognition, that will bring an easy laugh from the audience. Much the same way that in '80s flashbacks, the women invariably have huge hair with a scrunchy, and wear acid-washed jeans and ripped Flashdance sweatshirts – despite the fact that nobody I knew in the '80s wore any of those things, and they were actually very different fads, separated by about five years. It doesn't matter. Certain fashion indicators just become shorthand for an era. And this was one of them. So goodbye to "the Kate Gosselin." See you in the movies! (I'm calling this now, so in 20 years I can throw it in your face.)
