9/11 humor: Still too soon?

Comedy = Tragedy + Time. But how much time? Last year, the Onion shocked just about everybody with this hysterical article about how 9/11 is Dick Cheney's favorite holiday. This year they are back with a new piece commemorating 9/11 as a solemn day of remembrance and masturbation avoidance. I laughed three times and was only mildly appalled. When the teenage boy asks: "What? Should I not masturbate on Pearl Harbor Day, too?" he might just be making a larger point. How long before a tragedy goes from "sacred" and "meaningful" to "mindless tradition"?
