With a Chip on Her ShoulderFriday, September 11, 2009 11:07 AM
In London this week, Chip, the vibrant 36-inch-tall parrot of the Caribbean who appeared in the 2003 movie The Curse of the Black Pearl, clamped its beak onto the cop arresting its owner who'd been driving with the bird on her shoulder. Irritated at being separated from his mistress, the macaw continued to bite and scratch the officer on his hands and arms as the driver was being pulled from her car. According to the report, "A very nervous probationary officer then proceeded to drive the vehicle to the police station with great difficulty and an equal amount of dexterity as the macaw perched itself on the steering wheel pecking at his fingers throughout the journey." The out-of-work bird probably had been on its way to a meeting. (Photo: Images Int'l)
