World of Wonder friend Phil Tarley sent us what he feels is a "potent, passionate, and reasoned plea" to the POTUS:

"OBAMA has become an OBAMINATION. That's what friends who are fundraising for the DNC are telling me. Two weeks ago, when Barack Obama sent up a trial balloon dropping the Public Option from health care reform, donations tanked to submarine levels. Pledge calls were suspended until Obama limply renewed his support for the public plan. Outrage was the universal response by donors, whose hope for Universal Health Care had been dashed long ago. DNC members felt betrayed – at least they counted on reform with a Public Option. Though contributions have picked up some, they are nowhere near the levels the D-crats were getting before Obama caved. Many DEMS are so furious, they've decided to diss the DNC and are cashing up Moveon.org instead. Others vent disgust and hang up on fund-raisers. For many who are sick, have no insurance, and can't afford to pay for medicine, the Public Option is a matter of life and death. So what do we say to them? In the richest country in the world, what do we say to people dying for health care? If the pres wants re-election, he must sell the Public Option and show the country it works. At least he will have the votes of the 46 million uninsured, the votes of the under-insured, and the votes of our countrymen and women who care about all Americans. Healthcare is a right not a privilage in every developed country – except the USA. Grow a pair of stones, Obama. Use the bully pulpit and win back the DEMS. If not, you are a one-term loser. If you can't deliver, you won't get my vote, my heart or my cash ever, ever again." – Phil Tarley
