Lucas Grabeel honored for life's workTuesday, September 08, 2009 01:50 PM
OK, I want to meet Lucas Grabeel as much as the next queen. And I get it: sometimes you gotta flex your power to get a date in this town. If I ran a film festival I would probably honor a lot of hot guys, too, and shower them Lifetime Achievement Awards shaped like the key to my hotel room. But giving High School Musical's Lucas Grabeel the Perchanga Maverick Award for Outstanding Career Achievement in Film & Music at the Temecula Film Festival is a bit much, even for me. I really hope the festival director gets a deep tongue kiss for his efforts. AT THE VERY LEAST. The festival says of it's honorees this year: “We are proud to honor these tremendously accomplished individuals and institutions. Their collective body of work and achievements are amazing. From the iconic to the distinguished to the maverick young talent—we have them all this year!” And who's oeuvre could be more distinguished and maverick-y than young Mr Grebeel's?! His iconic films Chuckle Boy, The Real Son, music videos “Get Your Ass On” and “You Got It," plus good pal Eric Baines' video, “Dive Bar Rockstar,” which Lucas directed, will all be shown at the festival. The Temecula Valley International Film & Music Festival runs from Wednesday, September 9 through Sunday, September 13 in Temecula CA. (via Just Jared Jr.)
