The kids just love the Twitter, enjoy spending the day tweeting thoughts as soon as they come to them. Right? Not so much, it turns out. A recent survey taken of 10,000 teens ages 13 to 17 found that the vast majority of teens don't tweet, said Geoff Cook, cofounder and CEO of myYearbook, which conducted the survey. "Most teens don't use Twitter because it doesn't enable them to do anything they can't already do elsewhere," he said. "Which is the same reason most adults don't use Twitter."
And it doesn't look like teen interest in tweeting will increase anytime soon. When asked if they'd eventually get a Twitter account, 83% said no and 63% thought it was a passing fad. The number-one reason for not being on Twitter was – wait for it – "it's lame," followed by "my friends don't use it" and "I don't understand it." (via BizReport)
