Dame Vivienne Westwood on fashion, Pam Anderson, and climate changeMonday, July 13, 2009 03:25 PM tags: climate change, Cult Icons, Dame Vivienne Westwood, diva, DIY, Fashion, Fashion Forward, Jonathon Ross, Pam Anderson, punk
The always astonishing Dame Vivienne Westwood appeared on the Jonathon Ross Show in England to discuss, among other things, her latest fashion manifesto. "Don't buy new things," she implored the audience while wearing the very latest thing from her fall collection. "Wear a tablecloth or blanket or even towels if they're lovely enough." (Indeed, it looked as if she had just found a bolt of fabric and draped it around herself before walking onstage.) Also: "Ugly clothes will look better old and dirty. Don't wash things. Just wear them until they fall off your backs." When Jonathon sensibly asked if her manifesto might just put her out of business, she looked as if she didn't give a fuck if it did, and that's why we love her so much. Rock on, Viv.
