Little Red Ricci

Once upon a time... a 16 year old Christina Ricci played LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD in Dave Kaplan's provocative short film.Narrated by the late Quentin Crisp, the surrealistic film combines adult fiction and childhood fairytale in beautiful black and white photography with expressionistic set design. The film's look and feel owes much to the work of Jean Cocteau (BEAUTY AND THE BEAST AKA La belle et la bete 1946). The story is taken from the original folklore tale and not Charles Perrault's 1697 tale "Le Petit Chaperon Rouge". The DVD "LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD AND OTHER STORIES" hits shelves today (unavailable on video until now) from Malaprop Productions.
